    Sean,

I was considering buying the new Maggie 1.7's but I may have a chance to buy a pair of Maggie 1.6's with your upgrade. What does that do to the 1.6's exactly? Better than the 1.7's? No kidding?

I assume power would still be an issue with the 1.6's upgraded with your "magic"? Shouldn't be a problem for me any longer as I now have both a Belles Reference 150A amp (with a Belles 22A tube preamp) and also a Wyred 4 Sound STi-500 integrated amp . . . I've been busy Very Happy

Thanks for any info you can provide here.

We're actually sold out of the upgrade and I don't have any plans to build more at this time. Sorry Sad

Actually, the pair in question already has the upgrade. So, why did you decide to stop building them? Just curious . . . thanks.

that was a wild guess, I'm not really sure. I've always wanted to hear the Maggies and Martin Logans with some nice tubage. I do use a Martin Logan Cinema for my center though...

Thanks. Am still hunting those Maggie 1.7's and then these 1.6's with the Ninja upgrade came along . . . way to confuse things Smile Have read that the 1.6 with upgrades are better than the 1.7's.

Am also considering the hybrid Martin Logans and also Vandersteens (sentimental reasons on the Vandersteens - always wanted them when I was younger.)

Any other recommendations . . . for this type of speaker that is!! Love that open airy detailed sound . . . although, the ML's also have that base "punch" - guess the Vandys do too . . . although I would imagine getting the separate base driver matched cohesively must be a challenge for ML's . . . am definitely leaning toward the 1.7's but would want a sub I think, speaking of matching challenges.

Trust this finds you guys all doing well!!

It's a complex upgrade to build and with my new day job, there is no time Sad

It is a great upgrade though; makes a huge difference!
