Re: Channel Islands Audio...
I've been impressed with the reviews of the Onyko A-9555 in Stereophile. They did two reviews last year. One a full review and the other was a comparison to the budget recommended NAD. Unlike their other amplifiers, the A-9555 is (I'm pretty sure) a Class D. I'd have to go back and re-read it. Whatever it is, it's much better than the regular SS amps for music. The latter review concluded that both amps are really good budget audiophile quality amps, the NAD performed slightly better with popular music and the Onyko got the nod for Classical Music. The nice thing about it for most of us is that it has the features we like, i.e., several inputs, remote control, etc. It's nice looking and comes in either black or silver. Runs very cool. And it's very affordable, usually much less than the MSRP from the big mail order online companies, such as, www.JR.com
