    What Brand's Empty What Brand's

    Post  ch46eseaknight February 28th 2009, 3:07 am

I happen to use all Audioquest cables. I only have them because I got them at 75% off. I used to install alot of thier stuff. So what are your guys take on cables?

I'm usieng CV8 for the mains. Bi Wired. Diamond back rca's. I pretty much went away from using the digital, and went to anolog for everything except my Direct TV HD reveiver still uses Optic.

I' alway open to suggestions for quality stuff.

What Brand's Empty Zu Audio Power cords, ICs and speaker cables

    Post  jedinite24 March 24th 2010, 7:56 pm

I just found that Zu Audio has an ebay outlet.

    http://shop.ebay.com/zu_promos/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25#item19baed6f64

All their cables look to be really well made and great quality all around.

Does anyone have any experience with their cables? I was looking to try the Zu Wax speaker cables and Zu Birth Power cords.

    Thanks JD

JD... I bought a pair of 10' Zu Julians about a year ago on eBay. They are indeed well made -- I'm a complete sucker for their look! -- and I'm very happy with 'em. They replaced a similarly-priced (MSRP) pair of 10' MITs; I like the Julians better. Cable/equipment synergy's obviously hard to predict, so YMMV!

I will say however, when "times" are better, I'll be trying other Zu cables... including the Birth.

    "Two enthusiastic thumbs up!" cheers

True, very affordable and under-rated. I think my Onix SP200 speaker cables are great.

If your tastes are a touch more expensive, I'm also a dealer for Acoustic Zen. (well not more expensive than ALL the Onix cables, but the price of entry is a little higher) They make some very well reviewed cables as well.

Does anyone have any links for where I can buy Onix speaker cables? I did a quick google search Onix speaker cables and nothing of substance popped up.

Thanks and advise when you can. JD

    Hi Hugh

You make nice speakers btw and thanks for the prompt response.

I'm looking for a pair of 10' speaker wire terminated with Bananas to Spades with quality shielding because my 2 channel system is a mess of wires.

    Thanks so much. JD

WyWires between my cdp and pre have been a great improvement.

diy Rega Couple clones from pre to amp.

And copper/silver plated Sweet Spot Reveal 'Silver' from phono pre to pre.

i custom braided 5 strands of CAT6 network cable for some really heavy gauge 8' speaker wire. the look cool and seem to perform quite while. course currently my system is resolving enough to really showcase their potential quality. however they should be pretty much noise free. Gotta clean up the look on them, took forever to braid those 5 strands so I have been avoiding doing anything else to them like adding tech flex or finishing with the shrink wrapping. They are super thick so that big cool looking garden hose speaker cable is what I will end up with! lol bounce afro

When I do get my system up to spec though I want to see if transparent audio or MIT cables make a big difference. I do looove the look of those big network boxes

Have gone to Analysis Plus Copper Oval/Wire World Equinox XLR interconnects, am running Acoustic Zen Satori cables on my Adagio speakers and I bought Gallo speaker cable designed by Anthony for the Reference 3.5 speakers I own. I upgraded from less expensive Audioquest and Kimbers. Must say I am now a believer that quality cables make quite a - well, at least some -difference. My next system upgrade is power cords (considering Wire World) and I also have the opportunity to try a set of Stillpoints/threaded risers on my speakers - very interested in seeing what that might add (well, technically remove/isolate).
