been on the list forever and ever. theyve got a new FW loaded UMC with my name on it guaranteed to here on friday. should those still having issue pull me away ?

im pulling my mmc-1 and replacing with the UMC which i plan to replace with the XMC or the like later. the mmc is flawless but not as videl centric as i would like.

lets hope i dont have any major issues. one huge benefit that i see is the ill be able to use this purchase for the upgrade program on the XMC if that ever comes out.

I just used it for 2ch so i really didn't get the best use out of it....no worries though, it will be fine

I think I made the right decision to not getting into electronics.

So many things could go wrong.

I have one with the new firmware loaded and to be honest it has some issues but it really is a great piece. It sounds fantastic!!! It does have some issues with the audio dropping on my DVR but if I hit pause then play it works fine....shouldn't be a problem to get fixed via firmware eventually. All I know is my Directv box took at least 15 updates before it worked without major flaws, such as recording black screens instead of tv shows, and it still has issues with audio and speed.

I think the UMC is going to be fantastic once fixed.

I've got to talk to Dan to get one to see how it performs.

It seems like designing a pre-pro/AVR would be a monumental task. Way more complicated than just an amp or cd player or dac or something. I guess to a certain extent I give them props for being so ambitious. Hopefully they are able to smooth these bumps out in the future.
