Gotta have a gun thread. Very Happy Doesn't have to be political, but there isn't a general off-topic area.

    Anyway,

I went to a gun show today. I manage to make my way through the crowd of soon-to-be murderers and buy some ammo. 50 rds 44mag and 50 rds 9mm 125gr Golden Saber. I also picked up an ammo box that looks to be about 2 gallons worth of space. There's another gun show next weekend that I might check out.

Just loaded 100 9mm 125gr HP while watching Hellboy 2. I like my Lee handloader and RCBS dispenser.

I've noticed that Glock 33rd mags have gone up a little over $10 in the last few months. Every box of ammo a few bucks too. Mad

Firearm Enthusiasts Empty I got my fiancee a gun!

    Post  CloudStrife May 11th 2009, 7:53 pm

I still have yet to bring her to the range, so she'll have to get some shooting time in first. I thought a small .38 revolver would be good for her. When we first started talking, she didn't like guns too much. She didn't even like the sight of a bullet. lol But when I told her I was getting her a pistol, she said, "Okay". So I'm making progress! It's a Smith 642. It has the internal lock, which will be promptly removed once I receive the pistol. And you may notice a rather unusual feature. :-)

And she'll be shooting these... hopefully. The recoil shouldn't be too much I don't think. Defense loads aren't plinking ammo anyway.

I just picked up a Sig Sauer P6 220 in 9mm. I have 600 rounds of 9mm so I figured I buy a 9mm. Its in really good shape and shoots very well. Pretyy happy with it. My service pistol will be the new H&K p2000s in .40. Hope it lives up to the hype I've read.?????????

I just got my ParaUSA GI Expert 1911 in. It's pretty nice. I see now why 1911's require gunsmithing. They fit together like a puzzle, not like a Glock where the slide just comes on and off.
Guess what?! Nishan (Washburn) is looking into getting a gun! He's eying a Glock 26. When speaking of the G26 with a laser in the guide rod, he said it looked, and I quote, "sexy".

I have a Mosin Nagant on order from jgsales.com. $80. I don't know the exact condition, but they rate from very good to excellent, and the reviews are good. It's a bolt action 5rd built-in mag. It was the Russian sniper rifle in WW2. There are 2 reasons I'm getting one. The gun is cheap as hell, and the ammo is cheap as hell. I saw 440 rd spam cans on gunbroker for $50. jgsales sells them for $80 or 90. If the gun comes in good condition, I might order a few more. Pass 'em out to the family if I ever need to. lol

Wow that's not a bad deal. I'll have to check it out. What casing does it shoot?

On another note, I tried a new H&K P2000 at work the other day. Don't much care for the trigger pull needed on this thing. I would not buy one for myself. Shoots better than the Berreta M9 though. Much more compact and more accurate. All in all its an ok pistol for me, I just wish the trigger pull was not so dong long.
